FACTS
The University College of Engineering (UCE) has the distinction of being the oldest and the biggest among the Engineering Colleges of the State of Andhra Pradesh.
Established in the year 1929, eleven years after the formation of Osmania University, it was the 6th engineering College to be established in the whole of British India.
The College moved to its present permanent building in the year 1947.
The Golden Jubilee of the College was celebrated in 1979 and the Diamond Jubilee in 1989. The College was made autonomous in 1994.

B.E. (FOUR-YEAR DEGREE) COURSE :
Full Time
A Candidate for admission to the four-year degree course in Engineering must have passed the Intermediate examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects, or any other examination recognized by the Osmania University as equivalent thereto. All eligible applicants shall have to qualify at the entrance test, EAMCET. The candidates will be admitted strictly in accordance with the merit secured at the EAMCET, keeping in view the regulations concerning the reservation of seats to various categories and candidates.
Part -Time
A candidate for admission to the four-year degree course in Engineering must have passed the Diploma in the respective branch of Engineering of the State Board of Technical Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, or any other equivalent examination recognized by Osmania University. All eligible applicants shall have to qualify at the ECET (FDH). The Candidate will be admitted strictly in accordance with the merit secured at the ECET (FDH), keeping in view the regulations concerning the reservation of seats to various categories of candidates.

M.E./M.TECH. COURSE:
Full-Time (Regular)
A candidate for admission must have passed the BE/B.Tech/AMIE in the respective branch of Engineering or any other equivalent examination recognized by Osmania University.
All eligible applicants shall have to qualify at the GATE. The candidates will be admitted strictly in accordance with the merit secured at the GATE, keeping in view the regulations concerning the reservation of seats to various categories of candidates.
Part-Time
A candidate for admission must have passed the BE/B.Tech/AMIE in the respective branch of Engineering or any other equivalent examination recognized by Osmania University. All eligible applicants shall have to qualify at the Entrance Examination for PTPG courses. The candidates will be admitted strictly in accordance with the merit secured at the Entrance Examination, keeping in view the regulations concerning the reservation of seats to various categories of candidate. -
PH.D. PROGRAMME:
Applicants for registration for the Ph.D. programme should have the following qualifications:
Master's degree in any branch of Engineering or its equivalent from Osmania University or any other equivalent university/recognized institute, and Obtained at least 60% marks at BE and ME/M.Tech level.

MS BY RESEARCH:
A candidate must have obtained the Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a Master's degree in Science from Osmania University or any other recognized University.

DEPARTMENTS
CIVIL ENGINEERING
Civil Engineering was the first to be established in the University College of Engineering, Osmania University ,in the year 1929 with an intake of 12 students. In 1947 the Department of Civil Engineering moved into the present majestic building. Currently thee student intake is about 160, including both under-graduate and post-graduate. The department offers Masters and Doctoral Degree programmes in different specializations, such as structural engineering, Geotechnical Engg, Hydromechanics and Water Management. These courses are offered on both regualr and part-time basis.

COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING
The M.Tech (CSE) Course was started in 1981-82 and the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) was initiated in 1984-85. About the same time, a research program leading to the Ph.D. degree was initiated. In order to meet the increasing demand at the undergraduate level, the B.E. (CSE) course was started in 1984-85, followed by Master of Computer Applications (MCA) in 1990 and Part-Time M.Tech in 1991.

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING
The department started as a part of the Civil Engineering Department in the form of an Electro-Techniques Laboratory.
The Department of Electrical Engineering came into being in 1949. The Telecommunication course became the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, offering a four-year degree course in that area. Continuing education for employed diploma-holders was started in 1963 through the four-year Part-Time Degree Course in Electrical Engineering.

BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING
The Department offers a Bachelor's degree program in Biomedical Engineering. The curriculum comprises of courses in
Engineering processes (solid and fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, electromagnetic theory, control theory);
Medical Sciences (anatomy, physiology, biochemistry), Electronics and Instrumentation, clinical sciences,
Biomedical Engineering (Bioelectricity, Biomechanics, Biocontrols, Medical Instrumentation, Medical signal and Image Processing).
The Department offers its own Ph.D degree, and also has an arrangement for registration for Ph.D. (in Medical Sciences and Biomedical Engineering) at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).

ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATIONS ENGINEERING
In addition to the B.E. and M.E. Programmes, the Ph.D. program came into being in 1982. Scientists from recognised R&D Organizations are permitted to register as external candidates for the Ph.d. Programme.
